Let shoppers compare your products without leaving your store

A shopper with three laptops open in three tabs is a shopper about to leave and search elsewhere. The compare⁄io widget lets them put those three side by side on your page, read a clear verdict built from your own product data, and ask "which one for video editing?" — without leaving your store.

What your shoppers get

  • A small compare button in the corner of every page, and one on each product tile.
  • On a product page: "Add this product" — the widget reads the name, price, stock and picture straight off your page.
  • On a category or search page: tick the products they want from a list of what is on the page.
  • A search of your catalogue by name (Shopify and WooCommerce stores; others when they publish a product list).
  • A plain-language verdict, a side-by-side table of ten or more attributes — including the problems owners most often report — and a chat that answers follow-up questions about those products.
  • Their list stays with them from page to page. Nobody has to sign in.

One line to install

Paste this before the closing </body> tag of your site, with the key we give you in place of YOUR-KEY:

<script src="https://widget.compareio.website/widget.js" data-site="YOUR-KEY" async></script>

On Shopify: Online Store → Themes → Edit code → theme.liquid, just above </body>. On WordPress / WooCommerce: any "header and footer scripts" plugin, or your theme's footer. On anything else: wherever your other scripts go. The widget loads after your page, never before it, and adds nothing to your page weight until a shopper taps it.

Built for a store, not against it

  • The comparison is built from your product data plus the manufacturers' published specifications. It never searches other shops, never mentions another retailer, never shows another price. The panel says so, in writing, under every verdict.
  • Comparisons made on your store are private to your store: they are not published on compare⁄io, not listed, not indexed by search engines.
  • No cookies are set on your site and nothing about the shopper is collected. The shopper's list lives in their own browser.
  • The widget cannot read or change anything on your page beyond the product information every shop already publishes for Google. It draws its button, and that is all.
  • Your colour, your corner: the button takes your brand colour and sits left or right, as you prefer. The per-tile buttons can be switched off.

What it costs

Free during early access. We are working with the first stores one at a time, and there is no charge while we do. Each store has a monthly allowance of comparisons (repeats of the same comparison are free and do not count); a paid plan with a larger allowance will follow, and early-access stores will hear about it well before anything changes.

Get your key

Email contact@compareio.website with your store's web address. You get your key and your line back, usually the same day, and the widget is live the moment you paste it. If it does not recognise your product tiles, tell us and we will set it up for your theme — a one-off, on our side.

Questions people ask

Does it work with Shopify?

Yes. Shopify stores get the most out of it: the widget reads Shopify's own product data (real price, variants, stock) and searches your catalogue by name.

Does it work with WooCommerce, Magento, or a custom-built store?

Yes. Any store that publishes the standard product information Google reads (structured data or Open Graph tags — nearly every store does) works out of the box. WooCommerce also gets catalogue search. A custom store with unusual product tiles may need a one-off setting on our side; tell us and we will do it.

Will it slow my site down?

No. The line loads a small script after your page has finished, and the panel itself is only fetched when a shopper taps the button.

Where do the facts in the comparison come from?

From your product pages first — name, price, availability, description, brand — and from the manufacturers' published specifications for the rest. No web search runs, so nothing comes from other retailers. Each verdict says this underneath.

Can shoppers see comparisons made on other stores?

No. Every store's comparisons are its own, and they are never published or listed anywhere.

Can I turn it off?

Remove the line, or ask us to disable your key. Either takes effect immediately.
