Nobody can pay us to win

Comparison sites usually make money by ranking whoever pays most. This one does not, and this page explains exactly how it is funded instead.

No paid placement, ever

We do not accept payment to change a verdict, to rank an item higher, or to include or exclude something from a comparison. There are no affiliate links and no sponsored results. The model is not told who is paying for anything, because nobody is.

How compare⁄io is funded

By subscriptions from the people using it. A Pro plan removes the daily limit and raises how many items you can compare at once. That is the whole business model — which is deliberate, because it means our incentive is to be useful to you rather than agreeable to a vendor.

Running the service costs money for every comparison generated, which is why free use has a daily ceiling.

Vendor listings are separate

Businesses can list a service in our directory. A listing makes an item available to compare and gives it a detail page — it does not influence any verdict, buy a better position, or change how the model assesses it. Listings are free.

If a listed service is compared, it is judged on the same evidence as anything else.

What we are not

We are not affiliated with the brands, products or services that appear in comparisons, and we do not endorse them. Trademarks belong to their owners. Appearing on compare⁄io is not a relationship — it just means someone compared it.

CompareioIf you think a comparison is unfair or wrong, tell us and we will look at it.
