From Kuwait most money reaches Bangladesh through an exchange company, at the counter or in its app. Several of them pay straight into bKash. The best one is whichever puts the most taka in your family's hands that day.

What else to check

  • The weekend. Kuwait and Bangladesh both rest on Friday and Saturday, so bank transfers move on the same working days; one sent on Thursday evening waits until Sunday. Wallet transfers usually arrive any day.
  • Licensing. Exchange companies in Kuwait are supervised by the Central Bank of Kuwait; use one of them, not an informal agent.
  • bKash limits. bKash says up to Tk 2,50,000 can be received in one transaction under Bangladesh Bank rules.
  • Your Civil ID. Licensed exchanges need it; keep it valid in the app.

The 2.5% government incentive

Bangladesh adds a 2.5% cash incentive to money sent home through legal channels, paid to your family on arrival by the receiving bank or wallet; the government said in its June 2026 budget that it will continue. How it is paid, the limits on bKash and what taking the cash out costs are explained in receiving money from abroad in Bangladesh.
